What a Regular Garden Maintenance Visit Covers

A typical maintenance visit covers the routine work that keeps a garden looking sharp. Mowing the lawn at the right height for the season. Edging along borders, paths, and driveways for that finished look. Weeding the beds before weeds set seed. Pruning shrubs and trimming hedges back to shape. Leaf clearing through autumn. Bed maintenance, dead- heading, and seasonal cutting back where the planting needs it.

We tailor the visit to your garden. A small back garden with a lawn and a couple of borders takes less time than a larger property with mature planting and longer hedges. Some customers want everything done on every visit; others want the lawn and edges every fortnight and the bigger seasonal work as one-off jobs through the year. We'll work out the rhythm with you on the first visit.

Specialist Lawn Care

Beyond regular mowing, lawns benefit from periodic specialist care to stay genuinely healthy rather than just kept short. Scarification removes the layer of moss and dead grass that builds up at the soil surface and chokes new growth. Aeration relieves soil compaction by pulling small plugs out of the lawn, letting air, water, and nutrients reach the roots properly.

Feeding through the growing season keeps the grass thick and green and crowds weeds out without chemicals. Overseeding fills bare patches and thickens up thin areas. None of this is part of every visit; specialist lawn care is usually a couple of treatments through the year alongside regular mowing. Where a lawn is too far gone for treatment, our turfing service handles a full re-turf.

How Often Should I Have My Garden Maintained?

For most gardens, a fortnightly visit through the growing season works well. The grass stays at a manageable height between visits, the weeds don't get a head start, and the garden never reaches the point where it needs a full reset job. Through autumn and winter the visits drop to monthly or six-weekly, mostly to clear leaves and keep on top of the hedges and structural planting.

Smaller gardens or low-maintenance planting schemes often manage on a monthly visit year-round. Larger properties or gardens with lots of hedging and mature planting sometimes need a weekly visit through peak summer. We'll match the frequency to what your garden actually needs after we've seen it, rather than pushing a one-size schedule.

Garden Maintenance Across West London

We provide garden maintenance across Uxbridge, West London, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, and Hertfordshire, including Ealing, Chiswick, Hammersmith, Holland Park, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, and the surrounding areas.

How Much Does a Gardener Cost?

Garden maintenance pricing depends on the time the visit takes and the work involved. Smaller gardens with a regular schedule cost less per visit than larger ones or one-off rescue jobs where the garden has been left for a while. We don't have a one-size price because the gardens we look after vary too much.

The simplest way to get a price is to send us a few photos of the garden via WhatsApp, or arrange a quick site visit. We'll give you a clear quote for a regular schedule and a separate price for any one-off bigger jobs you want included. No subscription pressure, and you can pause or change the schedule whenever the garden's needs change.

One-Off Visits or a Regular Contract?

Some gardens fit a regular contract well: the same visit every fortnight or month, predictable cost, and you never have to think about it. That works for most lawned gardens and properties where consistency matters more than flexibility. Most of our regular customers fall into this group.

Other gardens are better served by one-off visits as needed. Lower-maintenance schemes, second homes that aren't lived in full-time, or properties being sold. For gardens that have reached a point where regular maintenance isn't enough to recover them, our garden clearance service handles the bigger reset, and we can put you on a regular maintenance schedule afterwards to keep it that way.
