Patio Jet Washing

Most patios benefit from a proper jet wash every couple of years. Block paving, Indian sandstone, porcelain, slabs, and natural stone all clean up well with the right pressure and the right approach. We use rotary surface cleaners for the main area, which keeps the pressure even and stops the finish ending up streaked or patchy from a wand-only clean. Edges, joints, and tight corners get hit by hand afterwards.

After jet washing block paving and slab patios, the joint sand usually needs topping up. The pressure that lifts the dirt also lifts the sand from the joints, and a re-sand with kiln-dried sand finishes the job and keeps the joints locked. We include the re-sand on block paving as standard rather than leaving it as an extra. Stained patios sometimes benefit from a sealant after cleaning, and we'll flag that on the quote where we think it's worth doing. test

Driveway Cleaning

Driveways take more punishment than patios because of the vehicle traffic, the oil drips, and the constant exposure to weather. A driveway that hasn't been cleaned in five or six years often looks halfway to needing replacement when really it just needs a thorough wash. Block paved, slabbed, and concrete driveways all clean up under jet wash with the right pressure for the surface.

We treat driveway cleaning the same as patio cleaning: rotary cleaner for the main area, hand-wand for edges and joints, re-sand on block paving. Where there are stubborn oil patches we use a degreaser before pressure to break the oil down rather than just smearing it across the driveway. How Long Does Jet Washing a Patio Take?

A small to medium domestic patio takes roughly two to three hours to clean properly. Half an hour or so on prep, an hour or two on the actual jet washing depending on how ingrained the dirt is, then a re-sand and tidy up. Bigger patios or driveways stretch out to half a day or a full day on the worst-affected surfaces.
